Alexandria Petroleum Company "APC" contracted Enppi to perform the engineering, procurement services and construction supervision for the revamp of their existing Furfural Extraction Unit (FEU) at Alexandria to NMP (N-METHY1-2-Pyrrolidone) solvent utilizing Bechtel's propriety of NMP technology .

The contract was signed between APC as represented by its former Chairman Eng.Ahmed El-Gayar, and presently as Chairman and CEO of Sidi Krir Petrochemicals Company and Enppi as represented by Eng. Fakhry Eid, Chairman and CEO.Eng. Mansour Kamel Present Chairman of APC also attended the contract signature.

The project aims to change the extraction solvent to NMP to increase the raffinate product quality and unit feed rate and reduce solvent consumption.

As the existing unit is a licensed unit, APC contracted Bechtel Corporation as the licensor, to prepare a Process License Package for the Revamp of the Existing FEU.
